Meanwhile, Dr.P.B. Jayasundera had paid Rs.5 lakhs to the government as a fine on 28th July 2008 which was ordered by the Supreme Court on 21st July 2008 after being found guilty in a FR case over an illegal deal that carried out between John Keels Holdings and Lanka Marine Services Ltd in 2002 when he was the Chairman of the PERC. The above FR case was filed by the opposition leader of Colombo Municipal Council Mr. Vasudewa Nanayakkara.</blockquote>
