They are anti democratic party. When I was in Uni Champika was a strong JVP and wanted JVP to succeed in south and LTTE to succeed in North. He uttered these in public and was very happy with the anarchy in 1989. He in fact supported MRS B s candidacy to last few days and then they withdrew. Do not be misled by JVP they are ruthless and brutal party and if they come to power they will do all anti democratic tactics they do in unis. They attack opposite views and assault and using fear suppress other students. They are responsible for most of the violence in university specially linked to politics. They are a bunch of opportunists , but I agree there are very dedicated membership who are willing to sacrifice anything , but unfortunately like other parties they are not in the party leadership. See what Wimal and the gang did . This is the type of so called leaders of JVP, but the general membership consists of very dedicated lot, but like any other insurgent group the top brass is not like the members so in that way LTTE and JVP are the same . I think Champika saw this long time ago, and that is why he drew similarity.</p></blockquote><p></p>
