Message: <blockquote data-quote="Mal Aiyya" data-source="post: 3718771" data-attributes="member: 81650">Machan I was also searchng for an Internet package and searchd abt many ISP's...Ultimately I sttled for Lanka Bell Wi-max and got the connectio only 3days back, nw m alwaya using it...No problem about servers so far... Good speed...and is always more faster thatn ADSL because it is wireless where as SLT is a cable connectiojn that usues DS cables around SL to servers, which means it is slower... I use the 512kbps, and these days the DL speed is abt 8kbps and UL is abt 30kbps...BE MINDFUL that there is a serious breakdown in the optical cable under the sea thru wich ALL the ISP's have connection to (Close to Singapore, and hence these days ALL the ISP's have very slow speeds for net due to this repair which is still going on.It will be hopefully be finshd within next 2-3weeks.SLT homenet users have the biggest probem becuase SLT gives them less priority in connection to enable the gigger firms and banks to have their transactions over the net as it is more important, no such problem with Lanka Bell wi max) The advantage of this is that U always have the highest guaranteed speed continuously unlyk SLT where it is slow in aftrnoonn and bit fastr in the nyts like that...thats mainly because Lankabell is Wi amx and it does not have a big number of subscribers around... Talking abt Dialog, they also have the same rates but monthly rental is a bit more expensive for the same packages, no difference in speeds, but why I hate dialog is for their bad customer service and no matter what product I use of dialog, there is always a reason to go to the customer center and pull up a fight for sumtn wrong on therir oart.So i dont trust and neithr prefer Dialog actually... The main reason why the Wi-max of any ISP is not popular like SLT is because Wimax requires coverage,with STRONG signals,unlike SLT, where everyone who has a SLT landline can do sumtn to get it(Easier installation), so if u r getng one first get the Site check done to see if ur place has signals... If you got any other clarifications abt dis, Just PM me... P.S: I am no employee neither marketer for Lanka bell neither any of the brands, but a well experienced and rather satisfied customer who would like to help others also...</blockquote>
