Peiris’s statements were both conveyed to the US  State Department.         Minister Rambukwella speaking to Daily Mirror online said that during  the meeting he had once again conveyed Sri Lanka’s concerns over the  statement and both parties had discussed the issue in length.          “Issues over the statement were discussed and the US Ambassador told me  that she had conveyed the statements released by me and Professor G.L.  Peiris to the US State Department. I once again conveyed Sri Lanka’s  concerns during the meeting,” Minister Rambukwella said.         The Minister added that several others issues including future media activities were also discussed during the meeting.         The government yesterday called on the US to stop interfering in the  internal affairs of Sri Lanka and added that they should refrain from  making ‘unwarranted’ and ‘irresponsible’ comments about the island’s  recent constitutional changes.         Minister Rambukwella said that the government would not consider any  “unacceptable comments” after the US on Saturday released a statement  condemning Sri Lanka's passage of a constitutional amendment granting  the president vast new powers, saying it undermined democracy.<a href="http://www.dailymirror.lk/index.php/news/6562-envoy-meets-keheliya.html" target="_blank">Dailymirror</a></blockquote>
