On Tuesday night,  reports reaching Colombo confirmed that the foreign expatriate is a Sri  Lankan male. “We know it’s a Sri Lankan but don’t have any other  details,” said a Sri Lankan national by telephone from Male, adding, "it  is also possible that he was mistaken for a local.” The High Commission in Male could not be immediately reached for  confirmation.
