I was also in a false belief that since the laptop is not taking a lot of power, I can continue to use the laptop at least for couple of hours or more with a 1.2 Kva.  But it turned out to be a pretty bad decision. While using a UPS, regardless of whether it is connected to a laptop or a desktop, save your work and shut down the machine and power off the UPS as soon as possible. Maximum within 5 -6 minutes. Otherwise the battries will start to drain faster than its expected life span. Thats my experience </blockquote>
