Many just search on the rapidshare file search engines copy the links posted by others and paste 'em here. No big deal. Even thats how I do it. I've posted some movie and tv documentries from other sites who have uploaded to RS. I don' think SL guys can do that coz c'mon latest software, gamez and movies are huge files. It'll take ages to upload them with the kind of ADSL connections we have in SL. Normally a person has 512kb/s connection which means the uploading rate max goes at 10-13 kB/s i.e. without using the net for any other purpose ofcourse. So after all this what I think is whether we like it or not we have to use RS links to get files coz in other countries they use RS to upload big files. So this idea won't work for many to get files.
