Shaken from a nap in his backseat he finds a group of hoods trying to jack his wheels. He tries to get them to stop but they kick and punch him. Logan gets angry and kills them but is shot a few times before the fight is over, he staggers into his car and drives away.Logan drives across the border wall checkpoint to an abandoned water plant in the Mexican countryside. He greets Caliban gruffly who asks for more meds. Inside the toppled water tank, Charles Xavier, 90 years old, babbles inchorently, Logan feeds him meds. Charles has a seizure and his brain waves cause an event, Logan is barely able to give a sedative shot. Logan's own body is slow to heal itself.Sometime later, at a cemetery, while on the job, a Mexican woman approaches and asks for his help, he brushes her off. Later, a young man with a bionic hand enters the limo and hints he knows who Logan really is, the man asks if anyone came around asking for Logan's help, Logan says no and the man, Pierce, leaves his Transigen business card.Logan drives his limo to a Motel for a fare. It is Gabriela who tries to convince him to take her and a young girl to Canada, she offers $50,000 with $20,000 upfront. Logan, who needs $75,000 to buy a boat and move south, accepts.Pierce meets Logan again and restates his desire to find Gabriela, with a hint of menace.In Mexico, Logan explains to Charles and Caliban he will be gone a few days to get a good payday that will allow them to get their boat. Caliban knows Logan is sick and hiding an illness.Logan returns to the motel but Gabriela is dead, the girl is missing and Logan takes the dead woman's cell. He returns to Mexico, upset. Caliban then notices the trunk is open and and a red ball. The young girl is there with them.Pierce arrives, hinting he knows Charles is inside. Logan knocks him out and asks Caliban to drop him off "at the wash". Inside, the girl is quietly munching cereal and Charles is excited, it has been 25 years since a mutant was born.Pierce recovers and overpowers Caliban, the rest of his support crew arrive and the Mexicans raid the plant. The girl is a ferocious young wolverine with admantium claws and helps Logan and Charles escape in the limo. Pierce tortures Caliban with daylight to get him to track Logan.In El Paso Charles and Logan watch a video on Gabriela's phone. She explains she is a nurse working for Transigen in Mexico City and Laura is not her daughter. Despite being labelled as cancer research in fact the facility raised and developed mutants. Several children with superpowers were being raised in almost inhumane conditions, although the staff tried to introduce normal childhood playtime and parties. The cell battery dies and Logan drives on.At a gas stop Laura enters the store and picks up items of interest, with no knowledge of money and seemingly a mute. Logan buys a phone charger. Charles explains that Laura is Logan's daughter, he refuses to believe. In OKC they stop at a nice Casino hotel,to buy clothes and clean up. Charles and Laura watch TV, Charles explains the movie playing, Shane was the first movie he ever saw. Logan searches Laura's pack and finds old X-Men comics and lab files from Transigen. A file confirms Laura was germinated with James Howlett-donor DNA. One of the comics has a story about Eden and lists geo co-ordinates in North Dakota. He also watches the rest of the cell video, Gabriela explains the facility one day decided to shutdown the mutant program, staff tried to take the kids to safety, and make their way to North Dakota to get to a Canadian sanctuary. The video shows the head doctor Rice. Meanwhile, Pierce and his posse stop at the highway gas bar and torture the clerk for info.Logan takes his beat up limo to a scrapyard and buys a green used crewcab pickup for $10,000 cash. On return to the casino he notices the black clad mercenaries. Suddenly Charles begins having another seizure and everyone in sight is paralyzed in pain. Logan struggles to get to the elevator and the room, he kills the mercenaries holding Charles at gunpoint and injects Xavier with the sedative. Everyone in the area collapses and Logan rushes Xavier and Laura to the pickup and hit the road. Dr. Rice arrives shortly after to convince Caliban to keep tracking the escapees.Along an interstate he pickup is buffeted by speeding self-driving semi trucks. Another vehicle also spins out, the horse trailer empties and panicky horses escape onto the highway. Charles calms the animals and Logan helps push the other vehicle out of the ditch. The grateful family, the Munsons, offer the mutants a home cooked meal, Charles readily agrees.At the farmhouse Laura eats hungrily in silence, Charles and Logan pretend to be father and son and make friendly small talk. The Munsons, parents and teen son are struggling farmers. The Munsons offer a bed and once again Charles agrees. Laura watches Logan carry the parapeligic Xavier upstairs tenderly. The water quits at the house and Munson says they have to fix a pump station in the next yard, some distance away. Logan agrees to help and the men go off to repair the water pump. Munson has to cut the fence chains as the pump is actually owned by a large corporate farm. Laura is curious about the teen Munson listening to music and he lends her his ipod and headphones.Munson and Logan are confronted by armed men who accuse them of trespassing. Munson claims he has an easement and Logan manages to scare them off.At the farm, Charles dreamily murmurs this was the best time he has had, a looming figure over him suddenly plunges admantium claws into Xavier's chest. The wolverine grabs Laura and puts her in metal restraints. The new figure is a younger, larger clone of Logan and has already killed Mrs. Munson and her son. The men from the pumphouse arrive looking to get even, they mistake the new wolverine for Logan, and are quickly killed. Munson and Logan return also, Munson is stabbed, Logan rushes to Charles, finding him bleeding to death, he carries him to the pickup.Rice and Pierce arrive as the two wolverines begin to fight, the new clone winning the fight. Munson saves Logan by shooting the clone version, turns to shoot Logan but dies. Caliban creates a diversion by scooping up two grenades and blowing up the Transigen command van in a suicide act. Pierce is partly caught in the blast. Logan, bloody and torn, manages to get his pickup and escape again with Laura and Charles.Farther up the highway Logan stops and Charles is close to death, Xavier urges Logan to accept Laura as his daughter and help her, he dies and Logan buries the original X-Man by a river. Logan is furious in despair and knocks himself out taking his frustrations out on the truck, Laura watches curiously.The Transigen group restore the wolverine clone with large injections of a green serum. Pierce repairs his bionic hand and notices a paper with the Eden geo coordinates.Logan wakes up in a small town doctor's office, Laura had stolen a small SUV and had driven it herself. The doctor recognizes Logan as a mutant and urges more tests to find out his illness, Logan refuses and leaves with Laura. In the Bronco, Laura now speaks Spanish and pidgin English, wanting to go to Eden, Logan finally agrees. He is too weak to make it all the way and Laura takes over driving.Deep in North Dakota close to the Canadian border they find a cliffside house with several of the other mutant kids from Transigen Mexico. The kids nurse Logan and let him rest, giving him small doses of the green serum. After a day or so Logan is much improved but still weak and limping. Laura asks Logan about the shiny bullet he carries, he says it is admantium, the same material slowly poisoning his body, he meant to use it for suicide. He gives her the bullet.The kids decide to make for Canada and leave before Logan awakes the next day. Arising he notices drones flying and the Transigen convoy rushing toward the kids in the distance. Logan finds the remaining green serum and gives himself a large shot.The kids are being caught by armed men, their powers too weak to resist. Logan rushes in with renewed energy and kills many men, Laura helping. Logan weakens, the serum is only temporary, the clone version arrives. Dr. Rice confronts Logan, who pulls out a gun and shoots the mad doctor. The wolverine clone starts to throw Logan around like a rag doll. The kids join together and manage to kill Pierce. Logan is impaled and as the clone moves in to kill him, Laura shoots it in the head with the admantium bullet. Logan finds peace as he dies seeing Laura safe. The kids bury the Wolverine, Laura recites a passage from Shane, she puts the grave cross as an X and the kids walk north. </blockquote>
