Defense sources said that the mortars were launched as the two helicopters landed at the Webber stadium in the Batticaloa town. Sources further confirmed that Minister suffered no injuries in the attack. According to the available information, an official of the Italian Embassy for Sri Lanka along with another nine people suffered injuries in the attack. The injured were being taken for the immediate medical attention. A helicopter belonging to a private airliner was also slightly damaged. </blockquote>
