Senewiratna the Minister of Electricity says , " the attack did not damage the plant but two cooling fans were reported damaged in the TAF attack". But according to reliable sources, fire engines have been dispatched to the Combined Cycle type Kelanithissa power plant which is 163 MW capacity. Parts of the coolant system connected to a gas turbine have caught fire.
