this is not a new issue guys! meka mehema wune welendo karapu boru hora wedak nisa thamange waahana tika wikuna ganna. I'l tell you a story About 2 yrs back one of my fried got an accident while riding a moped. the fault was with the other vehicle( a van) which hit my friend. he was badly damaged but survived. when came to compensation issue, the insurance company of the van denied to pay any by saying the moped was not registered and so the ride at the time of accident is illegal- my friend was very upset & surprised & when inquired by the court, the insurance company provide details of my friend bike model where it said the engine capacity is 51cc! -s o ultimately it was decided that my friend was the one who done the illicit ride!- So when we inquire further it was found that most of the 49cc mopeds are really 51cc! This unregistered motor-cycles came to market saying that these are not needed to register as the engine capacity of these bikes are 49cc. - Cos SL law says a vehicle which has a engine capacity above 50 should be registered (so 51 or more). but reality is all these mopeds etc do have an engine capacity well above 51 but as a marketing strategy they mentioned those as 49 so then customer has not to register his vehicle! So I think this is merely clarifying things which are rather dummy at the society- so for me this is a one, should have been done much earlier!
