Despite addressing the rally in Tamil  using two teleprompters he had wrongly pronounced  the copy written in Sinhalese. The participants had  booed him for the wrong Tamil words he had used and  the President who had been enraged had said, “Yes, we are Sinhalese. You listern to me, Tamilian. Don’t try to  be too wise. If you can’t listen get out from here. As you have hooted I would continue  my speech in Tamil,” and had continued his speech.
