ok....you do know America invaded Iraq.....would you believe if MR.Bush set which towns to take etc....

do you listen to the news....who stands in front of the podiums saying..."we will take falluja this week or that town that week"...the generals nope...

do you know WHO a general is?....he is not the on making decisions....

did you know only the leaders of a country can declare war on another....

Alexander the great was not a general....he said lets take this country's that village or town....and his generals came up with the tactics...every inch of the way...heck generals of that time went to the battle ground with their men and fought....which Sf didn't do i remind you.....Alexander's generals asked his for his consent....

and how can you deny the fact MR had to control our counter intelligence as well...not to mention the air force & navy....AND take decisions that effect our countries economy...talking with allies trying to beg for weapons (remember the anti air we suddenly needed)....all this during the intl' isolation at THAT time?....

Hey mister...... Can you point out some of the qualifications that enable MR to give those tactical orders...... Has he served even a single day in the army. read the following quote very carefully and get the idea on how the constitution of Sri Lanka states about this Commander-in-chief and chief of staff. dude...the JOC in sri lanka is under Mahinda....regardless....

but if i said that at first the country bumpkins here would not even understand....they barely understand the basic way i explained at first....

ok....tell me....do you think the head of the JOC was SF or gota + MR?

I did not say he gave tactical orders.....he choose the options FOR the JOC.....they had to work with the options passed on by the president & defense staff.....

do you think any country in the world would give up tactical powers to a general without liability?!!?

wat if the general sought to mortar an enemy while he was surrounded by innocent civilians....why not? would make the general's work easier....

if all options were up to the generals....the only things fired in wars would be the artillery....

for example the generals go to the JOC saying look this guy is using human shields (a person like praba).....the JOC passes this to defense staff...who pass onto president....who tells them to bomb the enemy anyway or try to approach by land and take over....to save the civilians.....

IS THE ABOVE EXAMPLE SIMPLE ENOUGH FOR YOU?!!!?

i am not saying they ask things like this every second...but all major decisions abt the war pass thru the leader of the country....kapish?
