Core i7 is the future I know, but whether spending a huge chunk on the CPU is wise or not really depends on his needs. But for other stuff, CPU will definitely give an advantage. I too would go with a i7 if I am to upgrade right now, but that is because I don't game on my notebook.Since he is a student and all, I too recomend the i7, I mean gaming should be his least concern <img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/lol.gif"  class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":lol:" title="LOL    :lol:" data-shortname=":lol:" /> . And the 15.4 slightly more portable than a 16, but personally I prefer a 14 or smaller.</blockquote>
