Message: <blockquote data-quote="rapa" data-source="post: 1588783" data-attributes="member: 212"><img src="http://img364.imageshack.us/img364/5904/navypic20aq9.jpg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" />In appreciation of the bravery and prompt action taken by Navy Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Bandara that averted a large-scale carnage and mayhem at the Sunday fair in Anuradhapura on the 10th of February 2008, the Sri Lankan Community in America hosted him at a felicitation ceremony in New York and Washinton DC.One ceremony had been held in New York on Saturday March 1st where Mr. Bandara was awarded a special plaque by Mr. Dillan Ariyawansa on behalf of the Sri Lankan American community of the Tri-State area of the United States of America and he was also awarded a special certificate of honor at the ceremony held in Washington DC on Sunday March 2nd by Mr. Bernard Gunatilake, Sri Lankan ambassador to the United States of America on behalf of the Sri Lankan American community of Washington DC  and Maryland.CPO Bandara was also granted a field promotion by the Commander of the Navy for his brave act.</blockquote>
