Piyasena voted in favour.          The UNP MPs Lakshman Seneviratne, Earl Gunasekara, Manusha Nanayakkara,  Upeksha Swarnamali, Nimal Wijesinghe, Shri Ranga and Abdul Carder  crossed over earlier in the day to the government and voted in favour.  The others were the eight SLMC members elected from the UNP and two  other UNPers – Prabha Ganeshan and Palani Digambaram who crossed over  earlier.          The UNP had decided to boycott the sessions claiming that the amendments  were unconstitutional, but the government argued that it would help to  have a stable government.      <a href="http://www.sundaytimes.lk/cms/articleXYZ100000010.php?id=6794" target="_blank">sundaytimes</a></blockquote>
