Issuing a media release in response to protests in front of the High Commission of Pakistan in Colombo on 30 April and 2 May 2025, a spokesperson of the High Commission stated that it’s not a secret who had instigated and sponsored those innocent people to be a part of the protest. Most of them did not even know where they were and why they were there at all. The elements orchestrating these activities and creating divisions have neither any regard for the harmony of society nor any respect for the rules and local laws. Responding to a related query that since the instigator of these protests is known, whether the Pakistan High Commission will be arranging a similar protest soon, the spokesperson stated that there is a strong bond of love, respect and understanding between Pakistan and Sri Lanka and between the people of the two countries. Hence, they do not want to be part of any group which disrupts the routine of the peaceful and brotherly people of Sri Lanka.
