This action by the defendant Company had violated the rights of the lyricist guaranteed through the provisions of the Intellectual Property Act, it was said..</p><p></p><p>Sunil Wimalaweera of Rajasinghe Rd, Mulleriyawa cited Dialog Telecom PLC of Union Place, Colombo 2 as the defendant. Plaintiff Wimalaweera stated that the defendant had sold the song Hiripoda Wessa Wageya that he wrote for the film Hiri Poda Wessa as a ringing tone for its customers and had unlawfully earned money.</p><p></p><p>He also stated that the defendant had sold the song as a ringing tone after advertising in newspapers.</p><p></p><p>The plaintiff further said that the defendant had sold the song Samanala Hanguman written by him through the defendant’s website violating the provisions of the Intellectual Property Act.</p><p></p><p>Wimalaweera in the plaint also stated that he had produced and directed the films Sugandi, Patipatini.
