I had a similar issue with my current computer. Sometimes, I couldn't even install windows, because whenever I booted using the CD, after sometime the computer always restarted.Finally later, I figured out what had happened. two pin buttons of the cpu fan, which are used to install the fan on the processor had broken. So, since the system stands, fan was just hanging on by two pins. So, the processor gets overheat. Then, I replace with a new fan.
