The main reason is the lack of exposure to the industry, I mean in general, not only Computer Engineering. We don't get to know what are the challenges in the industry, what are the latest trends. And there are very limited opportunities to work with the leading companies because they are based in Colombo. So we don't know the people in the industry and they don't know our capabilities. Only a few students of our batch had the opportunity to involve in industrial applications as the final year projects. All the other projects were based on theories and bla bla. And the staff doesn't help either. The syllabus is outdated and the staff believes we need to learn so many theories rather than a balance of theories and applications.
