This thread is more than 1 year old but everyone seems to be feeling the pain of your father. Let me also offer my deepest condolences. Also there are some things about the Sri Lankan medical field which is sad but true. If a patient passes away because of a doctor's negligence... there's no point if you take legal action. Because no doctor will give evidence against another doctor. This is because of the terrorist organization called the Govt. Medical Officers Association. This same mafia are the ppl who organize doctors' strikes. If one doctor plans to give evidence against another doctor, automatically the terrorist organization will do every thing possible to stop it using threats and various tactics. The second most unfortunate thing is not only doctors in Asiri or other private hospitals who are negligent. Same happens in government hospitals also. Unfortunately the news doesnt get exposed so often. In UK or USA or any developed country, a doctor cannot even prescribe a pain killer to a patient without explaining in detail what he prescribed, why is he prescribing, what is the conclusion he has why this is the right medicine, what are the side effects etc. etc. And they prescribe medicine after taking adequate tests. In Sri Lanka, medicine is prescribed with trial and error. "Meka sathiyak aran balamu" is a famous saying with any (con)doctor. Its a real sad situation indeed.
