I use Flashget and it's working perfectly. After installing Flashget, open up Firefox again. If all went well, when you right click anywhere on the Firefox windows and point to Flashgot options, the first entry will show the download accelerator it detected automatically. If you see a set of question marks, then I think you'll have to reinstall Firefox after uninstalling and install the Flashgot extension (don't remove the download accelerator). Now if things are working as they should, when you right click a file or whatever you wanna download, you can select "Download Using Flashgot" and it will pass the link to the default download accelerator.
