The guide told us what the wood type was but forget now. When soaked with water, these wooden pegs expand and the rock gets split. The stone workers then chisel it to break the granite apart and polish it. Also trenches are cut into the granite, layer by layer till they can take it off.</p></blockquote><p></p>
