Government will think about your side as well, just wait.  Software Engineering side is very competitive sector now, nowadays there're 4,5 rounds interviews even to get an entry level IT/Programming job. If you start IT job in your 30 (or even 28 or so) you can't expect very high salary at start & you'll be 35yrs old when you make over 100,000 most probably, unless you have super strong skill set or join one of the very few companies that pay well. And don't forget the stress as well, Programming jobs in other countries vs here (except very very few companies) is very different, very difficult to balance work-life. And at the end you'll need years maybe decades to earn back all the money you spent on education if you start your career in Programming in your 30s.  </blockquote>
