Mr. Wickremesighe who met an international delegation from  Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA) in his office today said the  government should conclude its deliberations with the TNA before the end  of the year and come out with a power devolution proposal which would  not harm the territorial integrity of Sri Lanka. With regard to the armed violence which the PGA is to focus on, he said  the subject is relevant to Sri Lanka as well as there are deficiencies  in democracy in the country. “We must accept that some of our issues  have become international issues,” he said. Mr. Wickremesighe suggested that Parliament should be given more power to deal with the breakdown of the rule of law. President of PGA Dr. Ruth Wijdenbosch who is heading the delegation said  they have not come to Sri Lanka to tell the country what to do. However  Dr. Wijdenbosch said Sri Lanka is in a post war situation and no  country is immune to armed violence. Stolen weapons she said could go to  the hands of criminals and violence could destroy the infrastructure of  a nation. With regard to the PFA conference she said is it would focus on the  countries that manufacture and sell weapons while it would also look  into registering all weapons that are imported from a country to  another.Dailymirror</blockquote>
