[QUOTE="warwickuni, post: 16641076, member: 101444"] First we should be proud that Sri Lanka was given this opportunity instead of India or Pakistan or any other county.Robert E. Wilhelm fellowship is a prestigious fellowship and as far as I know no Sri Lankan had been offered this so far.(Think about the foreign ministry gurus and professors in international relations in Unis in sri lanka and the so called experts in politics I will refrain the names but frequent ministerial entourage to Geneva including government officials from presidential secretariat and attorney general' s dept etc) Former recipient was David Milliband former UK foreign minister . So we should be proud of the opportunity given. The Centre for International Studies MIT is more than 50 year old and awarded fellowships to global leaders. The less number of participants is a common phenomenon in prestigious universities, where lot of such activities are going on and normally less publicity or rather no publicity is given about the event. I think he did a fairly good job and his analysis was good. Whether you like his party or not should not be a criterion to assess work there. He had done good research and he supported his arguments. His political debacle here should not be mixed here. I fully agree that he should have left the party long time ago, nevertheless a good work should be appreciated. I urge any body having any interest in international relations to watch this discussion in full. I think we all should be proud of this moment as he had done better than our foreign affairs pundits.
