In other words his ,daily expenditure is Rs. 19 million!. This President whose love professedly for the people oozes at every pore over the media and on platforms has become the most vicious parasite on the people, because it is people’s monies which are being channeled to maintain the SL’s President.</p><p> </p><p>While the people are struggling to eke out a living , this so called ‘people’s’ President elected by the people for the people ,thinks it fit to exploit the people and indulge his pleasures on the blood, sweat, tears and toils of the people. Whose money is the President spending ? Aren’t these people’s monies ruthlessly collected by the Govt. after burdening them with countless, tax, tariff and cost of living hikes ? he asked.</p><p></p><p>The highest expenditure per day by any President before him never exceeded Rs. 50,000/-. Even when it comes to budget expenditures ; 70% of the expenditures are directed to the President Rajapakse and those under his kith and kin administration. 20 % are allocated for the Cabinet. Only the balance 10 % is used for country’s other programs, he pinpointed. The worst part of it all is, the Govt. cuts down budget allocations for vital sectors, Health, education , development and others, but Rajapakse’s sector gets the lion’s share. No wonder the country’s economy has reached a catastrophic situation, he exclaimed.</p><p></p><p>Do the people authorize this Rajapakse monopoly ? he asked.</p><p></p><p>When Rome was burning Nero was only fiddling. But, here is a ‘Hero’ who is diddling when home is collapsing before his own eyes, he added.</p><p></p><p>Referring to the CPC strike , Mr. Jayasekera said, the President turns a blind eye to their justifiable demands, and talks about country’s economic debacle. In that case , why doesn’t he think of the country’s dire economic problems when allocating Rs. 19 million per day for his self expenditure?.</p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> The President is unable to solve a simple Trade union issue. The President has aggravated the workers’ issue by holding discussions only with the Govt. SLFP union, thereby provoking the other main unions. While the Unions are fighting for the rights of all workers , and not for its workers only, the President on the other hand, at the discussions with the SLFP union has offered salary increases to its Union leader and promoted him to the Director Board. Besides, this Union leader’s family, a majority of whom are working in the CPC are also given salary increases with back pay . The total payment to them on these salary increases is Rs. 81 lakhs.</p><p></p><p>This attitude of the President of riding the high horse oblivious of the adverse repercussions resulting to the country from his myopic actions has only courted disaster for the country and the people, though not for him, may be so far, he concluded.</p></blockquote><p></p>
