You can rename it to anything you like that you can rememberNow open Resource Hacker and open "C:\Windows\explorer.exe". On the left hand side you should see a list of file folders in a tree-type diagram like windows explorer,Click on the "+" next to "String Table". This should open up a further choice of file folders numbered irregularly from 19 to 518.Click on "46" then on "1033".In the right hand pane you should see something like,720, "P&roperties"722, "Run"730, "&Log Off..."731, "T&urn Off Computer..." etc...Double click the word "Computer" making sure you don't get rid of the inverted commas and change the name to whatever you want, this can be more than just one word, if so desired (that's what I did with mine - I do video editing and so changed "Computer" to "Editing Suite"). The "&" signs are there to denote which character keys are used to shutdown or log off if using the keyboard rather than the mouse. I.e., on default, to log off, you'd hit the windows key, between Ctrl and Alt, then "L", on the start menu. The L is underlined, on the start menu so changing where the "&" is, changes what key log's off and what key is underlined. So if you wanted the "O" of "Off" to shutdown, you'd change the "&" from "&Log Off..." to "Log &Off..." and so on.Anyway, back to the point. When you've changed the word "Computer" to whatever word/s you want click the button that is now an option "Compile Script" - not sure why this is necessary, but I understand it saves a great deal of manual fiddling.DO NOT SAVE!!!!!!!!!Click "File", then "Save AS..." and call the file something you can remember, but don't overwrite your back-up copy. Make sure you type ".exe" at the end of your chosen file so the computer knows what type of file you want it to be and save it to "C:\Windows"So, now in C\Windows, you should have "explorer.exe", "Copy of explorer.exe" and "newturnoffcomputerexplorer.exe".Now we need to tell your computer that we don't want to use the original explorer.exe anymore, we want to use the updated one. To do this you need to edit the registry(THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS - MAKE A BACK UP OF THE REGISTRY BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING. IF YOU SCREW UP THE REGISTRY, YOUR COMPUTER MAY RANGE FROM NOT WORKING PROPERLY TO NOT WORKING AT ALL)When you're happy a back-up is done, edit the registry,click "Start" then "Run" and type "regedit" and "OK",Find location "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\ CURRENTVERSION\WINLOGONOn the right hand pane scroll down to "Shell" (between SfcQuota and ShowLogonOptions. Double click "Shell" and the value data should read "explorer.exe", change that to the name you called your newturnoffcomputerexplorer.exe and click "OK".Close Resourse Hacker and any other programs and/or file folders and restart your computer.
