I like to imagine the car is an extension of myself. I want to feel the feedback from the road. I need to feel the car straining and relaxing as I accelerate and cruise. Typing these words make me want to go out right now and meet her, start her engine and see the  temperature meter rise and feel her relaxing idly after reaching optimum temperature, it's like looking at your girlfriend sleeping next to you peacefully... I know I sound like a dumb idiot but this is how I feel...I'd never buy an EV even if the government make it mandatory.
