The four High Security Zones are: Katunayake International Airport and surrounding areas, Colombo Fort, BMICH compound and adjacent premises and the area extending from Kollupitiya to Galle Face. </p><p> Meanwhile the Police Department has taken steps to implement a special traffic plan within Colombo city limits. </p><p> According to the plan, roads surrounding the BMICH; namely Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Sarana Road and Malalasekera Mawatha would be closed during the days of the summit. </p><p> The police instruct the general public to use alternative routes for transportation during the said time period.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>The traffic plan will be as follows:</strong></p><p> Roads in Fort which would be closed during the summit</p><p> Leyden Bastian Mawatha (near Harbour Gate), Baron Jayatilleka Mawatha (near Bristol Street Junction), Lower Chatham Street (near Bristol Street Junction), Ceramic Junction, York Street, the road from Ceramic Junction to Lotus Road, Justice Akbar Mawatha, Glennie Street Junction railway crossing and Kollupitiya Junction.</p><p></p><p> <strong>The alternative route</strong> </p><p> Vehicles coming through Reclamation Street should proceed along Reclamation Street, Baron Jayatilleka Mawatha, Bristol Street and Lower Chatham Street. Those who need to travel towards the Ceramic Junction need to go through Olcott Mawatha and turn off from the Ceynor Junction. </p><p> Roads which would be closed in the area extending from Borella to Bambalapitiya</p><p> General Cemetery Roundabout, Gregory’s Road, Gregory’s Avenue, Bullers-Wijerama Junction, Public Administration Ministry Roundabout, Bullers Road and Bullers Road Junction, Malalasekera Mawatha and Sarana Road Junction, Independence Avenue-Bullers Lane Junction.</p><p></p><p> <strong>Alternative route from </strong></p><p> <strong>Borella to Bambalapitiya </strong></p><p> Vehicles proceeding from the General Cemetery Roundabout should go through Kynsey Road, Gregory’s Road, Maitland Crescent, Maitland Place, passing the Public Administration Ministry Roundabout; on to the Independence Avenue and go towards Bambalapitiya through Reid Avenue or Horton Place.</p><p></p><p> <strong>Alternative route for</strong></p><p> <strong>vehicles plying from </strong></p><p> <strong>Bambalapitiya to Borella</strong> </p><p> Traffic would be directed through Thummulla Junction to Reid Avenue, Thurstan Road, JOC Roundabout, Cambridge Place, Cambridge Terrace, on to Borella through the Horton Roundabout, or go towards Independence Avenue through Nanda Motors Junction, to Maitland Crescent and through Horton Place go to Borella. Vehicles coming from Narahenpita – should come through the Narahenpita Market Road on to Sarana Road, to Malalasekera Mawatha Junction, Bullers Lane toward the Torrington traffic lights to Bullers Road and Stanley Wijesundera Mawatha and head to Fort. </p><p> Or turn off from the Bullers Road on to the Thimbirigasyaya Road, then to Jawatta Road and emerge through Stanley Wijesundera Mawatha and head to Fort.</p><p></p><p> <strong>Alternative route from Galle Road to Pettah</strong></p><p> From Galle Road turn off at the Kollupitiya Junction on to Dharmapala Mawatha, Liberty Roundabout, Piththala Junction, James Peiris Mawatha, Kompannaveediya Junction, Justice Akbar Mawatha, Malay Street, Sir Chittampalam Gardiner Mawatha, Ceramic Junction, Lotus Road on to CTO Junction and Olcott Mawatha.</p><p> Alternative route from Pettah to Galle Road</p><p> From Olcott Mawatha turn to CTO Junction, Lotus Road, Ceramic Junction, Sir Chittampalam Gardiner Mawatha, Malay Street, Justice Akbar Mawatha, Kompannaveediya Junction, James Peiris Mawatha, Piththala Junction, Dharmapala Mawatha, Red Cross Roundabout, Marcus Fernando Mawatha, Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, Liberty Roundabout on to Duplication Road and come to Galle Road.</p></blockquote><p></p>
