Ranil Wickremesinghe always has acted in accordance with those policies. He too has always stood by them, Jayasooriya had pointed out. As the people and the majority of the party membership are clamoring that Sajith shall be the UNP leader, Jayasooriya had requested Ranil to come forward and hand over the leadership to Sajith Premadasa.</blockquote>
