This was revealed by Dr. David Young, the renowned orthopaedic surgeon in Australia.Sangakkara was nursing the right index finger injury before the concluded home series against India.Sangakkara was the biggest disappointed in the one-day series which India won 3-2 with a poor aggregate of just 37 runs.The surgery will be performed by Dr. Greg Hoy and Sangakkara is due to fly to Australia in a week’s time for the surgery according to Dr. Young.Dr. Greg Hoy's practice has an emphasis on sporting injuries and maintains close ties with many sporting teams and organisations.His work encompasses hand and wrist surgery (including trauma), all forms of shoulder surgery and a particular interest in elbow surgery. He performs a significant amount of his surgery under arthroscopic control and has stayed at the forefront of technology with development in all aspects of upper limb surgery.
