Message: <blockquote data-quote="sangakkara" data-source="post: 2154704" data-attributes="member: 2470">The Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Association (SLSRA) has been instructed by the Education Ministry to take action that may be deemed necessary against Isipathana College for fielding an illegitimate player against Dharmaraja in their inter-school rugby match played in Kandy last week.The player has been identified as K. A. D. Sajith Saranga by the Education Ministry in its letter to the the SLSRA.Before the match Dharmaraja protested over the presence of three players whom they claimed were illegitimate but after an investigation by the Education Ministry it was discovered that only one player, Saranga, had violated the rules.Saranga according to the Education Ministry’s director of physical education and sports L. K. Jayaweera had failed his exam and was not eligible to be in school or part of its rugby team.Interestingly the head of the SLSRA K. A. D. Punydasa is also the Principal of Isipathana.In 1991 Isipathana were suspended from the schools rugby championship for fielding an illegitimate player.</blockquote>
