Message: <blockquote data-quote="rapa" data-source="post: 766943" data-attributes="member: 212">The Sinhale Arakshaka Savidhanaya (Organization for the Protection of Sinhale) of the United Kingdom has sent a letter of felicitation to President Mahinda Rajapaksa on the occasion of the armed forces victory in the East.The SAS comprises 14 patriotic organizations which have expressed solidarity with the Sri Lanka Government in its campaign to rid the island of LTTE terrorism.   Saluting the country's armed forces and expressing to the President the heartfelt thanks of all Sinhalas in the UK, the letter states:"During the past two decades the treacherous, short-sighted and lethargic policies of former presidents and prime ministers, thousands of lives, especially those of Sinhalas that ought to have been saved were lost to terrorism. Over 25,000 security forces members were killed."   The letter states that under the President's leadership, our "heroic armed forces were able to achieve a victory which even the Indian troops could not secure."According to the letter the armed forces success in Thoppigala is proof of the President's correct leadership.    The SAS is now awaiting the liberation of the North and securing the country's unity and territorial integrity.Signatories to the letter are Venerable Vitharandeniye Kassapa, Wimal Ediriweera, Mahinda Perera, Douglas Wickremaratne, Dr. P. Ranatunga, W.K. Chandraguptha, Ira Mediwaka, R. A. Wimalasekera, C.Siri Anandagoda, Orin de Silva, Tilak Ellepola, Anura Seneviratne, Dhammika Mawella and K.N. Amarasinghe.</blockquote>
