Gando Nogando- Deal or No Deal. 6.    Soora Papa- Asterix and Obelix (The beloved Roman cartoon characters are reduced to life size costume wearing freaks). 7.    Raja Ibo-TMNT or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. 8.    Dangaya-Dennis the Menace. 9.    Scooby Doo. These are just a few of the shows that Sirasa TV has lifted its ideas from. Here are the list of the soaps that are a staple of every Sri Lankan household. 1.    Mahagedara- Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhie Bahu Thi (Fortunately most of the characters are known by their original character names). 2.    Kindurangana- Kasaam Say (the hit Zee TV drama has been Sri-Lankanized but the storyline is the same as its Indian counterpart and the theme song follows the same tune too!) 3.    Praveena- Kasautii Zindage Kay (Mind you, the characters’ names have been changed. For Eg. Balraj is Balaji, Anurag is Anuruddha etc). 4.    Nonawaruni Mahathwaruni- Shrimanji Shrimathiji (remember that comedy on Saab TV featuring a sex-crazy married man trying to woo his female neighbor who happens to be a famous film star?). 5.    Yes Boss (Another Saab TV comedy which has been ‘Sri-Lankanized’ to entertain us all). FYI, the shows have been sponsored by Shobha and Ekta Kapoor AND they are also the executive producers of the Indian shows I mentioned above.The mother and daughter duo are using shameless characters such as ‘Bull-See,’ ‘Cow-Yaa’ and ‘Para-Vina’ to plant seeds of jealousy, destruction, adultery and murder into our households. Think of it people. How many philandering husbands are being tolerated by their wives here? How many times will a dead man come back to life? How many Sri Lankan mother-in-laws would murder their daughter-in-laws? How can one woman sleep with every Raja, Ram and Roy in the drama and still be called a great woman instead of an adulteress? All these shows are nonsensical, ridiculous and foolish. The viewers who watch them, star in them and take part in them are equally stupid or they either go for it for the money/publicity/sex. Forget about soaps or comedy shows. Sirasa has the nerve to dub famous English movies such as the Karate Kid series, Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Shrek trilogy into Sinhala! How revolting! Let’s stop watching Sirasa TV NOW!</blockquote>
