Depending on the department all the facilities will be predetermined because no transfers are possible like in SLAS.  Some depts are better in status some are better regarding income. Generally all SLSS officers are de jure considered on par with SLAS officers and hence are in the same level with ASP s and Lt Colonel. Any one who comes with a Phd  may not have the opportunity to join slss afterwards due to age limitation.  Any government or private job including academic positions are not as powerful as Public Executives. After joining SLSS many can embark on foreign visits and  apply for foreign higherstudies. ( Its mandatory)  So it's better to join SLSS if you can. Even better to join slas if you get the opportunity.</blockquote>
