Other than that there are many presets in the cam you can play around..and if you use something like night mode you are better off using a tri-pod because its extremely hard to get a clear (non-blurry) shot using our hands in fading light!And angles are also important, from what know...you should always try to skip the obvious angle and try something different..I think when you see something..the obvious angle is straight up angle right?but picturing that does'nt really differ from seeing it..so when you try different angles the picture looks so different and new to our eyes!I'm not a pro but these are the small things you can try out!
