Officials believe about 12 Tigers on board were killed during the attack.“Sri Lanka Naval task group comprising Off Shore Patrol vessels "SLNS Sayura", "SLNS Sagara", Fast Attack Vessel "SLNS Suranimila" and Rendezvous vessel 521 were engaged in the Naval elite operation,” the Defense Ministry said.Sri Lanka Navy destroyed three LTTE vessels carrying arms and military equipment in the same seas on Sept. 10. The vessel destroyed today was the same type as the three vessels destroyed earlier.The successes in the seas are credited to the enhanced naval intelligence activities by the present Navy command.
