The "key" is the key here (pun intended).  i strongly believe that this is not a physical key but is more of a mental exercise.  What was the best mental exercise those spiritually developed people knew?  Yes, meditation!Remember the tele-drama 'Akaala Sandhya' where this person time-travelled by way of meditating and reaching higher planes of mental awareness.  In Vipassana bhaavana methodology, one needs a 'kasina' or an object to concentrate on.  My view is that this "lock" could be the 'kasina' used for the meditation, which is the "key" to the "star gate"I know, this may sound very far fetched.  But if you look at this from the point of view of people who were there at the time, this will not sound too far-off.  Because, those were the days of Arahats and other monks and lay-people who have attained higher mental states (Sovaan Sakrudhagaami and Anaagami)Pls be open minded about this.  i would value anybody's such open minded comments.</blockquote>
