sure i agree with you..BTW i'm not jvp.

You know how depressed students in western counties. They have to pay quite a lot to get a simple graduation. So most of them don't go far. That's why they seek brains from Asian counties.

Our writing & reading ability is far more ahead from other Asian countries. Its because of this free education system..there are so many pros in this systems just as cons.

What we have to do is make private system which would endorse the ordinary system. There should be some kind of a regulation system.

See what happening with private hospitals. There's no responsibilty for them.So they play with us. sure this is a liberal world .but It's always not right.best example see what has happened to usa.

Dude I'm studying in the USA and i cannot disagree with you more...... if American students don't go to uni its only cuz thy lak the drive to do so or dumb as hell........ thy have plenty of scholarship opportunities and plenty of loan systems. On top of that the US government has the ROTC program where students join the military and the government sponsors your education in return while paying a salary if you are on active duty.

As far as the USa's economy is conserned its messed up cuz the government regulated it too much...... if you whant ill give you the low down on that sm wer around next week cuz im in the middl o my exams.... hehe.

As far as private universitys in SL giving bad education is consernd it is some thing that will fix by it self
sayif a private uni gives bad education to its students the students will not do well in theire careers and a uni that dosent crate good graduate will automaticaly shut down.......as for the poor devils that went to that university they should have done theire reserch as to the capabilities of that uni n not gone to it. If a uni is backed by a reputed financial instituion like say EAP group or sm thing it shoul be a gd uni cuz it has a reputation to up holed so ppl should go fr tht bt if the uni is owned by da local Mudalali u probably shouldnt go.

But ofcourse Doctors, Engineers should be chekd before they do irreversable damage. that can be as simple as having a lisencing test for all docs conducted by a government or private body regardless of where the students graduate from.

Munta pissu. How small percentage of students who does A/L selected to the campus??? Nowadays, they also dont have a future. So what about majority rest??? They have no rights to have higher education in Sri Lanka???

Students who couldnt go campus won't stay here looking at sky. Majority leave country and go Australia, UK, England, Ireland for higher education. damn. How much money they carry out from Sri Lanka??? We can't blame them. After that lots of student won't return back to SL. They live there. SL government spent lots of money for them since they were in Grade 1 to Grade 13. They got free education. Finally they work for abroad. Some get married a foreign girl and live there forever. Thawa tika kalekin Sinhalayo Iwarai kiyai lankawe.

JVP moodayanta mewa therenne na. Un thaama jeewath wenne Gal Yugaye. Campus wala lamainwa kotawanne okun thama. Eda idanma kale okane.

Now there are some institutes where you can study for foreign degree and finally get the foreign Degree staying here in SL. From that way money goes out from the country is less. Now these stupid ppl are fighting to stop them too. Campus lamainwa kulappu karawala kotawanawa. Sri Lankaweta dewiyangema pihitai me wage ola mottala yakku innakam. ::(((((

can't agree with you more...if same thing could happen in SRI LANKA.i repeat in SRI LANKA.

we living in a island.our goverment getting layed with a never ending war.60% of people whos living in villages doesn't have electricity,so they dont get that much exposure in there life.the only chance kids get through is free education..there yearly earning rate is just above $1000.they don't have acres of lands to cultivate.do you think they will benefit from this systems?

I'm not against private universities.what I'm telling is that we need to have some different kind of approach to address this issue.otherwise race between government & private sector could leave millions of students hopeless.

Dude i c wat ur sayin bt hvin privat unis dosent mean that the gov 1c must close down thy cn both co exist....... the low income families will hv the Gov unis to go to. the ppl that cN afford cn go to the privat 1c.... wat is hapnin now is that no 1 is gtin any wer.......
also we cud hv loan system lik in other countires where the student takes out a loan n then pay it aftr he/she gts a job
the bottom line is that if we say that some ppl in SL cant afford Eduation tru privat unis n then not hv em theppl dat cn afford a privat uni in SL bt nt abrod wont gt the cance to study n the poor kids dat we r takin about unless they r the very brainy 17000 dat gt selectd in to gov uni dont gt educatd any ways.

the harsh reality is in this modern world mony talks and you dont get evry thing fr free u hv to earn it......its time sri lankans understood dt whn thy do thy will gt off their asses and actualy work harder and smarter and we cn cm up as a country.

The Americans here work very very very hard to earn mony to go to uni lik i said sm litraly put their lives on the line by joining the forces........so ppl in SL too must stop whanting things to b givn free..........

DEAR SRI LANKANS ASK NOT WAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU BUT WAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY AND YOURSELF

sure machan....that's what we should do,but right now we don't have a plan, loaning system or anything like that.Government going to open the gates without taking any measures. It's a very dangours act.when we consider situation in sri lanka ,one generation could go step backwards in education with that kind of an approach .

yep I agree with what you are talking with.We have to work heard to get what we want.We have to run fast.Think fast. These things not happening in sri lanka. Those poluted-titions eating this country day by day.Until we change(or kill) them, those corrupt idiots making this place worse. With a kind of infrastucture we are having right now ,those Innocents living in rural villages can't get any better or stronger than this to race with us.So in case of its not their fault, their only hope is free education.so first we must force this goverments to create a system which could serve those innocents.

then its ok to make gates open...but until then it's always good keep those stable gates closed.:)

My frind..actually if the so calld gates are opened the private sector will automatically put in the infrastructure as ther will be a demand fr it ..... including the loans that you are worried about. in fact i knw that BOC givs education loans even now but it is not perfect cuz the demand fr it is not there.

As far as holding the whole country back for the sake of the less privileged is a bogus idea .....it will just stagnate the country.

sure at the start the less privileged might not be able to afford private uni.... bt the ppl that cn will go to em, ther by boosting the economy of the country which in turn will help the less prvileged we wr takin abt in the b'ginin

No its never good to keeps gates closed. OPEN em ASAP

If we keep thinking too much about the poor the whol country will end up b'in poor........ all the brais and the welth in the country will go over seas.....u knw ter r around 400 Sri Lankans here at NASA...... imagin wat thy cud hv done if thy wer in SL?

N thers no point point in our fingurs at the politicians...... sure thy r currupt...... that will not change. Its not just da politicians dat r "eating" the country Sri Lankans as a whole are doing it. I think the people that blame every thing on the government are F*** idiots... the gov has short commings bt in this instance thy r trying to do wats correct but people scared of change and bein left behind cuz thy r poor r messing thins up.

People are scared of privatisation of any thing not just Uni... electrocity board, transport n evry thing. In my opinion almoast evry thing should be privatized and only then can the economy grow and also the sevises wil b much better.
Gov workers don lik privatisation cuz thy wil actually hv to work insted of takein 4 hour lunch brakes n 1 hour tea brake 5 times a day.

i watched the vid of the discussion on the uni issu on TNL( i thank the man dat posted it up here) the JVP/student union dude who i personaly think has less barain than my dog said that evry time that privet companis hv been allowd to cm in to a previously gov dominated market the gov sector collapsed .... TRUE n wat dat tell us is that the gov was not good enough to compeate and that the privt sector gave a bettr service so ppl went for the privet sector product. So indeed if the gov company is givin us comparativly bad products thy should close down.

N the Prof of Law ter on TNL said sm thing about the NAWAKA WADAYA he said it is lik the shootings in the unis here in the USA..... bull F***ing shit. the shootings wer carrid out by one or 2 individuals and was not premeitated in that its not sm thing dat happens to all the new students dat cm in. N the shootings wer carrid out by mentally sick individuals the only prob is that Guns r leagal here which is ot the case in SL( DATS deffa a gd thing) so he is compareing apples to oranges.

N sorry about the tacky writing im in a hurry ...........!!! please do reply

first i have to say it's very interesting to continue this talk with you.so thanks for spending time here, even when you are doing exam .

now i'm going to explain some burdens behind my words.the main thing is i don't like to see my country change in to a another Singapore or malaysia.i rather like to see my cultural values & traditions save for few more hundreds years.I think you can get what i'm saying here.so i always prefer some kind of a protection over everything when considering my country.

sure everything has drawn back in my country...no money,no fancy towers ,not a good place for someone who wants to grow.these things are true..,but we always had something which others doesn't had.this is what we scared of.its not about privatization, its not about white invasion, its just a scare of loosing myself as a sri lankan.sure these things are bit emotional stuff.these things doesn't go with the present world, but i always like my country .I know you too....................man this why I'm asking something which uniquely serve us.

getting in to facts we don't have a big economy,so its always good to have a some autonomy.i think your president-elect obama also in the same page.see what happened with your loaning systems.usa has a very big economy.but still that simple loaning crisis destroyed everything.I think fully liberated systems doent count anymore in anywhere.

its pretty obvious that we cant full blame on polutitions.little bit of that goes to the people who left this country without trying make a simple change..did you see how that doctor bravely said "Government not giving all the money which they promise us".this is the first time i saw something like that in my entire life.until this moment every brained person kissed polutitions AS***.they never faught against them.what they told us is "we cant change this system"or "nothing to do i will also has to change".after that they left this country.no one had balls to fight against this system.why i'm telling this because personally i know this is true for 100%

man we don't have to argue on these things...there's nothing to argue.so lets ask government to make some system to server everyone from the beginning.you can say my ideas are too hypothetical & dreamy.but if we work hard dreams always comes true.

p.s. hand writings are readable enough:D
