Dear All, There is an effort to convert metta.lk tripitaka content into Unicode sinhala characters. LINK : http://thripitakaya.com/ This is started mainly due to the increase use of sutta contents in dhamma discussions in collaborative social networking sites such as Facebook/Myspace and also in sihala blogging. As far as I know currently, there are 2 sites which provide sinhala translations of pali canon. 1)http://www.aathaapi.org/Thripitaka.php (PDF format) 2)http://metta.lk/tipitaka/ (Need separate fonts) Neither of those can be used effectively in excerpting sutta quotes in the internet. But having the Tripitaka in Unicode sinhala, users will be able to search in Google, copy sutta quotes and use in any modern website. We are using a software tool to convert the content in metta.lk into Unicode characters. This is done with the blessings of Ven. mettavihari thero in metta.lk. Anyone of you can contribute to this effort by donating your spare time in converting the content and also reviewing the converted content by simply reading! Hope this will help to propagate dhamma within the sinhala reading internet using community.Appreciate if you could provide any comments on this initiative. Theruwansaranai!
