Message: <blockquote data-quote="lkdood" data-source="post: 10287466" data-attributes="member: 92282">Hundreds of pole wielding thugs took  to the streets  around Town hall a short while ago to counter a public  protest  organised by the Janatha Vimukthi Perumana (JVP) in the same  vicinity.   The mob led by People’s Alliance  Parliamentarian-Duminda Silva marched  from the Red Cross Round about  towards Town Hall Junction where the  JVP had assembled its supporters to  protest over the controversial  Private Pension Scheme and the killing  of a factory worker at the  Katunayake Free Trade Zone (FTZ).   The incident forced traffic to a snail’s crawl  causing inconvenience  to thousands of home-bound officer workers, many  of who had to miss  their scheduled trains and buses.   Meanwhile the Army was deployed in and around the  Seeduwa-Katunayake  area as hundreds of factory workers took to the  streets to protest at  the killing of a colleague allegedly by the police  earlier in the week.ST </blockquote>
