As expected, Cook was beaming with pride following yesterday’s announcement, calling the occasion “one of the most important” days in Apple’s history. Not only did we see a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus, Apple also detailed a new mobile payment system, along with a new wearable called Apple Watch.Cook called the company’s new lineup a “statement of Apple,” and of course took a jab at Android’s growing mobile dominance. The Apple CEO knows Apple needed to respond to the big phone trend, and said that now that the company is competing in that space, he envisions Android users switching over to iOS. Not only does Cook believe the new iPhone 6 devices are “the mother of all upgrades,” but that both handsets are “appreciably better in every single way.”Yesterday’s presentation saw Cook at the top of his game, controlling the crowd and beaming with excitement at every turn. He even used a classic Steve Jobs-ism, muttering one of Apple’s most famous phrases before introducing the Apple Watch: “One more thing.”There was several months of hype, and Apple mostly delivered for Apple fans. But will it be enough to convince Android users to make the switch? Screen size has always been one of the major criticisms against the iPhone, but that can finally be put to rest with new 4.7 and 5.5.-inch options.
