Provided we don't screw this up... the writer has a point Sri Lanka is in the "Oil Belt" of the world... there must be "Oil" in the SL seas... there's is a huge possibility..And just to add to this.... here in Malaysia the richest company is the local oil comapny called "Petronas" there's no two words about it.. even the famous twin towers belongs to the company and called "Petronas Towers", and I've heard that  raw-oil that's being pumped out of sea bed when you refine it there are grades for that as well, so it seems Malaysian oil is very high grade so what they do is they export the local oil.. and so to speak generate more revenue from that and import low-grade oil from other countries, and doing so maintaining oil prices (1 petrol liter is around Rs.60~ here)So Sri Lanka must plan before go venturing into this, and definitely we need technological assist from other countries because we really don't have expertize in this filed but those expertize should not come in at a price where it is too disadvantageous for Sri Lankans and also in my personal opinion Government should introduce a plan where by initially we can start with foreign companis and slowly we adopt their technology and eventually this whole thing becomes Sri Lankan owned!!If we sit on our @sses while they pump and give the money for us forever.. then FORGET IT!!!</blockquote>
