Japanese style rooms for more than 4,000 JPY. For a full apartment, you are looking at 30,000 JPY or more in Tokyo. Other islands cheaper but way expensive than here in Sri Lanka. You can save tons of money if you don't opt for rice. Go for sushi and stuff Even if you want some rice, there are vending machines with cheaper prices. The higher end restaurants will set you 4,000 or more for a normal 3 course meal. I spent about 400,000 (about 150k went for different kinds of pleasures) for 6 weeks with a friend lending me his couch for 3 weeks. Trains are somewhat expensive (not talking about tube). Flying is cheaper sometimes. If you travel more, buy a railway card. It will work out cheaper than buying individual tickets.</blockquote>
