Trump wants to get selected for a second term, and sorting out NK will be his ticket. If Trump starts a war with NK it will drag on harming many economies in Asia too, and dragging China into that too which will be the end of Trump's presidential hopes. Contrarily, if Trump is able to sign peace with NK he will be a hero, and he will get the Nobel too.Kim knows that.
