Currently, negotiations are on between the two airlines and the contract is expected to be signed by April next year. Currently, Emirates has 40 per cent stake in the airline and while it has proposed to buy more stake, SriLankan Airlines is looking at increasing its own profitability. With a view to enhance its profits, the airline has proposed that it should be allowed to use two of the 50 Airbus A380, which will be delivered to Emirates by early 2009.
