Ubuntu 7.1 Help Needed

Hey,

I have purchased a PC from a popular company in the country and it came with Ubuntu 7.10 pre-installed. The problem is that they have not given me the password for default user account ( which is "user"). I'm having such a hard time because I just can't perform any administrative task without having to enter the password for authentication. I'm not going to mention the company name, but it is well known for sewing machines. RIngs a bell??

So does anyone of you know what the heck this password is that they use? Please help me out.
