After returning from military school Michael Harding (Penn Badgley) is taken for a surprise. He finds his mother Susan (Sela Ward) happily in love with a man David Harris (Dylan Walsh) who has moved into their house. David tells him that he wants them to become a perfect family. As they get to know each other, Michael finds him as a man who is always there to help everyone. Though to everyone David appears a perfect father and husband but Michael grows suspicious of him. Michael feels that he is not the same type of man as he shows himself to be. He along with his girlfriend Kelly (Amber Heard), his mother’s friends (Paige Turco and Sherry Stringfield) and his biological father Jay (Jon Tenney) join hands to unlock the mystery. During all this he realizes that all those who suspect David are either missing or killed. On finding his father's body in the basement, he now has to save his family. Thus he fights with David and ends up falling off the roof. It remains to be seen whether he is able to bring out the truth.</blockquote>
