Immigration cap will be set to 20700 visas for workpermits (Tier 2) for the year 2011/20122. Tier 1 General Visas also known as HSMP will be restricted to entrepreneurs, scientists and people with exceptional skills in another word normal people will get the boot. And this is set to 1000 visas per year. So if you are planning to apply under HSMP/Tier1 (General) please do before April 2011.There will be a period of 8 weeks for consulting student visa changes and the proposals are1. No more visa will be issued for students who apply for courses below degree level.2. Dependents cant work3. Work hours will be set to 10 hours4.
